What is PlayIQ?

Play IQ is a player development platform built to help young rugby league athletes train smarter, build better skills, and understand the game on a deeper level. We give players the clarity, structure, and guidance they’ve been missing — so they can improve with purpose, confidence, and consistency.
  • IQ Plus

IQ Plus is our personalised feedback and video analysis program designed to help players understand the game at a deeper level. Through clear breakdowns, tailored insights, and simple coaching points, players learn exactly what they’re doing well, what needs improving, and how to apply those improvements in real game situations.

  • Player Development Series

Our Player Development Series gives athletes a complete training system they can follow outside of team sessions. With game-specific drills, simple coaching cues, and structured sessions, players learn the skills, habits, and decisions that actually translate to the field.

  • Social Media Education

We create free content that teaches players how the game works — from skill breakdowns to movement patterns, decision-making, and training ideas. Our goal is to make quality development information accessible for every player, no matter their level.

IQ Plus

Smarter Feedback. Faster Improvement.

IQ Plus gives you the clarity most players never get. Instead of guessing what you need to work on, you’ll see your game the way a coach sees it — with clear breakdowns, simple coaching points, and position-specific insights that show what you’re doing well, where your real opportunities are, and exactly what to focus on next.

Who's it for?

  • Players who want to do extras but don’t know what to work on

  • Parents who want to support their child’s development with something structured and credible

  • Junior & youth players who feel “stuck” and want to reach the next level

  • Athletes preparing for rep trials, school programs, or stepping up an age group

  • Players who are willing to work hard—as long as they know the work is actually helping

What’s Holding Players Back?

It’s not effort that’s missing. Most junior players are keen, they love footy, and they’re willing to put the work in.

They don’t know what to work on.
So they just do random drills from YouTube or repeat the same basic reps.

They don’t understand the game deeply enough.
They’ve been told what to do, but not why—so they struggle to make good decisions under pressure.

They only improve during team training.
Outside of sessions, there’s no structure, no plan, and no clarity.

Parents want to help, but don’t always know how.
You can see their potential, but you don’t have a clear roadmap to guide them.

The Play IQ Difference

Most players want to train—they just don’t know how. We give you simple, step-by-step clarity on what to work on, why it matters, and how it links to the game so you never waste reps again.

  • Game-Specific Skill Development

Everything we teach connects directly to real rugby league situations. No gimmicks—just drills, habits, and decisions that show up every single weekend on the field.

  • Simple, Repeatable Sessions

Players improve faster when training is easy to follow. Our sessions are short, structured, and designed for solo or small-group practice, making consistent development achievable for anyone.

FAQ

  • What age is this for?

The Series is designed for junior and youth rugby league players, roughly ages 12–18. Younger players can still follow along with support from a parent or coach.

  • Does my child need special equipment?

No. Most sessions just need a ball, some space, and maybe a few cones or markers. If anything extra is required, we’ll clearly list it at the start of each video.

  • Can they train on their own?

Yes. Most drills are designed for solo or small group training, so players can improve even if they don’t have a full team around them.

  • How long are the sessions?

Most sessions are built to fit into 30–45 minutes, so they can be added around school, club training, and life.

  • Is this only for “rep” or elite players?

Not at all. It’s for any player who wants to get better—whether they’re just starting out or already in a pathway system.

  • I’m a parent who doesn’t know much about footy. Will I still understand it?
